Welcome to Coffee at Three, my Scandinavian, Fika-inspired Substack series where my goal is to try to bring you as many fun weekly (mostly baking) recipes as I can. I’m a Swedish-American twenty-something-year-old living in Brooklyn, and currently work full-time as a recipe developer and content creator at food media company, Food52. Although I’m living my dream–getting paid to create, cook, and film in a beautiful kitchen all day–I started this Substack as a way to have a hobby that revolved around food outside of work. I love sharing my mistakes and trials in the kitchen, and most of all, I love connecting with people and hearing their takes on recipes!
What is Coffee at Three?
In Sweden we have what’s called fika, which if you haven’t heard of it, it’s pretty much an organized coffee break around 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Times obviously vary and you can enjoy fika with anyone (coworkers, friends, yourself), but it’s a great way to purposefully unwind throughout the day. The title was inspired by, you guessed it, fika and coffee at three, and while recipes will be the top priority, it’s my hope that it will become about so much more than! You’ll receive one every Wednesday and Saturday at 3 p.m. (ideal fika time), and I’ll also be posting about my trials and fails throughout the week. Although I cook and shoot content for a living, I’m always looking for input from others, so I can’t wait to hear the tips and ideas you all have.
Thank you for being here and for all your support!
