I can’t believe it’s already June! May absolutely flew by, and now I’m starting to get ready for my trip to Sweden as well as three weddings in the coming month. This past weekend was as ideal as they get. I went into it with no set plans, but ended up getting drinks with friends on Friday night, spending most of the day chilling on Saturday, and walking around Red Hook with Lucas on Sunday (his favorite area). We went to Hometown Barbeque–my first time–and while the line is almost over an hour long, they keep you entertained with drinks while you wait. I know I haven’t done one of these in a few weeks now (I promise I’ll become more consistent!!), but here are my favorites from the past week.
Product: Dior Backstage Body & Face Foundation
As someone who loves makeup, I feel like I’ve tried countless foundations. While there are many great ones, so far none have competed with the Dior backstage one. I must admit, the shade I currently use is definitely more of a post-tan summer color (4C) and should probably get a lighter one, but that said, I can’t stop using it. It feels really light on your face, blends well, and gives you a really nice glow. It stays on all day and looks very natural on your skin. Highly reccomend!
Clothing: New York or Nowhere Fleece
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen me wear this fleece pullover countless times. It’s getting warmer, so I won’t be able to wear it much longer, but because it’s not that thick, it’s a great transitional piece. I got it in a size XL so it would be nice and oversized.
Kitchen: Hestan Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls
I’ve been eyeing these mixing bowls since I started working at Food52 (they sell a lot of Hestan on their site), and now I finally have them! They’re incredibly durable, unlike some plastic/ceramic/glass bowls, and I love how high up the sides come. They’re a bit of an investment, but really worth it. Would also make a great gift!
Food: Hometown Barbeque
As I mentioned in the intro, Lucas and I went to Hometown Barbeque yesterday (on Sunday) for the first time and I couldn’t reccomend it enough if you’re in NYC. Chances are, there’ll be a long line, but part of the fun is drinking beers and listening to the live band while waiting to order. We got the brisket, the buttered (and well salted) cornbread, sausage, and bacon. While all were good, if they hadn’t been sold out, we would’ve gotten the chicken tacos and burnt tips instead.
Hi Nea! Do you have a YouTube channel?
The barbecue platter got me drooling 🤤 😍
